Local Flowers
We priorities our SEQ flower growers and will extend our supply chain to Australia when needed. Australia is loosing a lot of our local farms to various reasons - resulting in a larger push for imported product. We want to see our farmers thrive into the future and create more for us.
-
Plastic Free
Flowers and single use plastics unfortunately go hand to hand in our modern consumer driven society. From wholesale bought flowers to the retail presentation. We pride ourselves on using NO single use plastic in our wrapping and where possible buy our flowers unpackaged and unsleeved.
-
Naturally Dried
All of our dried flowers, foliage's, grasses and sticks are created in our studio. Unlike imported and preserves blooms, ours have no harsh chemicals, bleaches or dyes. Making them safe for you to keep in your home.
-
Local Businesses
Prioritizing local because it keeps our community growing in the most genuine, grounded way. When you support nearby growers, makers, and small businesses, you’re not just buying a product — you’re helping a village thrive, strengthening the local economy, and keeping skills, stories, and craftsmanship alive right here at home.
-
No Foam Mechanics
We will not ever use floral foam. Floral foam is a fine-celled thermoset phenolic plastic foam and is listed in SARA Hazard Categories as both an Acute Health Hazard and a Chronic Health Hazard. Slowly
breaking down into microscopic particles that make their way into our waterways, adversely affecting marine life. -
BYO Vase & Vase Return (coming soon)
To help us reduce our waste further, we encourage you to bring in your vase. Our team is working on an offer to present to our community – Vase Returns. You will be able send your unwanted RBF vase back to us for a discount off your next purchase, and we’ll reuse it in another order.
From the Founder
Why is sustainability so important to the business?
I grew up in a family where beauty was something you nurtured, not purchased. My parents taught me that flowers are the earth’s quiet reward for patience, care, and relationship — never rushed, never forced. Floristry became my way of expressing emotion, a craft that feels like meditation, shaped by nature’s rhythm rather than trends.
Rusty Bucket Floristry exists because of the land that raised me and the community that trusts us with their most meaningful moments. We honour the seasons, celebrate intentional consumption, and create pieces that translate emotion when words fall short. Every stem is an offering — a way of respecting nature, holding stories, and creating beauty that arrives exactly on time.

Slow Flower Movement
The slow flower movement is a gentle return to what nature has always known — that beauty is richest when it’s grown with patience, care, and respect. It’s a way of choosing flowers that honour the seasons, the soil, and the hands that nurture them. At Rusty Bucket, we see it as an invitation to move softly: to work with what’s blooming right now, to celebrate local growers, and to create arrangements that feel alive with story and intention. Slow flowers aren’t rushed or forced; they’re crafted in rhythm with the earth,
offering a quieter, deeper kind of radiance.
"Beauty is cultivated. Beautiful things don’t happen by accident, they require patience, seasons, care and hard work" - one of Zoe's core beliefs

Our Journey with Sustainability
Sustainability, for us, is a journey — not a finish line. It’s something we keep returning to, refining, and improving as we learn more about how our choices impact the world around us. At Rusty Bucket, we’re exploring practical, meaningful shifts: reducing water consumption in our studio, lowering emissions from our deliveries, and finding better solutions for recycling soft‑plastic sleeves. None of this is instant, but every small change moves us closer to a business that honours the earth as much as the flowers we work with.
